A unos tres meses de haberse convertido en padre de Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, el intérprete de "I Don't Care" sorprendió al mundo entero con el lanzamiento de "Afterglow" y sus fanáticos no podrían estar más contentos con este regalo de Navidad.
La balada acústica ya se encuentra disponible y llegó acompañada de una colorida obra de arte, creada por él mismo, al estilo de Jackson Pollock la cual presenta toques de color. Además, estrenó clip en el que Sheeran toca la pista con una guitarra acústica en medio de una escena crepuscular en una sola toma.
En su cuenta de Instagram Ed habló sobre este nuevo sencillo: “Hola gente. Afterglow es una canción que escribí el año pasado y que quería presentarles. No es el primer single del próximo álbum; es sólo una canción que amo y espero que ustedes también amen. ¡Disfruten! Espero que tengan un hermoso receso por las Fiestas y un maravilloso Año Nuevo. Ahora me toca volver a mis tareas como papá, ciao x”.
Apenas lo dio a conocer, el solista recibió una particular felicitación por parte de Paulo Londra, el rapero cordobés con el que colaboró el año pasado. “Este culea de ed sheeran que saca canciones que te hacen llorar y sonreír”, fue su mensaje en Twitter.
Revelado recientemente como el artista británico más reproducido en 2020 en el Reino Unido, Sheeran, escribió la canción con FRED (quien también produjo el tema junto a él) y David Hodges. En Argentina sus singles “Thinking Out Loud”, “Photograph” y “Perfect” han logrado la certificación Platino, su single “Shape Of You” Platino x4 y su álbum “Divide” ha alcanzado el galardón de Oro.
